Medical Issues in Internationally Adopted Children

It’s natural for parents to have concerns about their adopted child’s medical history, and what it may mean for their future. Paul J. Lee, MD, Attending Physician, Director, International Adoption Program at Winthrop University Hospital, will give an overview of typical medical issues and conditions internationally adopted children face. We will also provide you with current information on available treatment options and care solutions for a better understanding of the actual impact of these varied, and mostly treatable, medical conditions.

This workshop is open to all families considering international adoption and families currently in the adoption process. This workshop includes content required for international adoption by the Hague Convention.
