Navigating the Path to Parenthood Between Fertility Treatments and Adoption
When faced with
infertility, couples and singles are faced with more possibilities to build
their families, but also more confusion, risk, and unknowns. For most
families, the transitions between different paths to parenthood can be painful
and unclear. Please join us for a presentation & discussion focused on the emotional
decisions involved in pursuing fertility work, deciding when to stop or when to
keep going, how and when adoption can become a part of the conversation,
and how thoughtful decisions and planning ahead can help make your journey to
parenthood just a little bit smoother.
Stella Gilgur-Cook is a licensed social worker
with years of experience working in adoption. Now as the Assistant Director of
Outreach at Spence-Chapin, she works closely with families at the very
beginning stages of their exploration into adoption by preparing, educating,
and supporting prospective adoptive families as they decide on their next steps
to parenthood.
