We are looking for a loving, permanent family for sweet Abigail. Abigail is currently living in a children’s home in Colombia where she has been since 2017. Abigail has faced some tough starts in her young life. However, her caregivers share with us that she is a special young girl who is resilient, unique and stands out in a crowd.

If you’d like to learn more about her or any of our other waiting children, please email our team at info@spence-chapin.org

Abigail has been diagnosed with Down syndrome and moderate intellectual disability. Abigail is dependent on adults for support and supervision for her day-to-day activities and would thrive in a family that will make her feel loved and supported, and that is prepared to meet her unique needs.

Abigail is described as a generally quiet child. However, it has been observed that she is happiest when there is music and dancing – parties, special events, or outings to the park are her favorite!

Abigail receives psychological, speech, occupational, and physical therapy to promote her integral development. She actively participates in workshops, recreational and leisure activities at the children’s home where she currently resides. This has allowed Abigail to strengthen and improve her skills in all areas of development.

If you think you could be Abigail’s forever family, contact our Adoption Team at 212-400-8150 or email us at info@spence-chapin.org.
