Talia Oren Marcom Requests Photo File 2 49

Meet Ava, a charismatic and playful little girl who is in need of a loving, dedicated, permanent family.

Ava was born in January of 2013 and has been living with a foster family in Colombia since March of 2018.  Ava has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome and exhibits delays in her cognitive and language development.  She is currently enrolled in an elementary school program where she receives personalized education; speech, occupational, and physical therapies to strengthen her cognitive and language abilities.  Her teachers and therapists share with us that Ava always wears a smile on her face!

Ava is characterized as being sociable, she learns easily, likes to share with other children, and assumes an attitude of respect towards her peers and teachers.”

Ava is described as a cheerful and affectionate little girl who establishes trusted bonds quickly. She enjoys playing with her dolls, going on walks and to the swimming pool.  She especially enjoys participating in activities such as dancing, music, and painting!

As a result of her diagnosis, Ava has difficulty verbalizing fluently. However, with the support of language therapies received weekly, and the stimulation provided by her foster family, she has improved her verbal expression and vocabulary and has advanced significantly.

Ava is a beautiful little girl who is in need of a family to provide the emotional stability, care and protection that she deserves.  If you are interested in learning more about Ava, please contact our Adoption Team at 212-400-8150 or email us at info@spence-chapin.org
