EMMANUEL, AGE 6, COLOMBIA

Emmanuel is an adorable 6-year-old boy living in a children’s home in Colombia. His caregivers share with us that he is a special little boy – charismatic, loving and very funny! Emmanuel can be wary of new people at first, but once he feels comfortable, he shows affection easily and spontaneously.

Emmanuel lived much of his early life in the care of a foster mother. In 2018 he was placed in the children’s home where he currently lives. Despite the challenging circumstances of his early years, his caregivers share that little by little, Emmanuel has formed healthy and loving relationships that they believe will only be strengthened with proper love and care from a forever family.

Emmanuel is an energetic little boy. He loves to run, jump, and climb. He recently expressed an interest in dancing and has begun to learn and perform dance steps with ease. He also enjoys quiet activities that require attention and concentration such as puzzles and playing with his toy cars.

Emmanuel is currently enrolled in school and is transitioning between grades. In school, he is learning to write his name and numbers. His teachers have noted that Emmanuel presents with delays in the development of his comprehensive language skills and requires additional support in the subjects of literacy and math.

“Emmanuel has allowed the children’s home to give him love, a safe and controlled environment and above all accept him as he is – celebrating his achievements and advances and reinforcing his positive behavior. This shows that with true and unconditional love, he can adjust to social contexts in an appropriate way, allowing affective expressions that will lead him to project and fulfill his dreams…”

Emmanuel is in need of a loving, trusting, and supportive family. He is ready to be matched immediately! If you think you could be the forever family for Emmanuel, contact our Adoption Team at 212-400-8150 or email us at info@spence-chapin.org.
