We are looking for a loving, permanent family for a young boy named Jhon. He is described as being a resilient and sweet child who is ready for his forever family. When meeting someone for the first time, Jhon initially appears introverted and shy, but quickly blossoms into a social and outgoing child once he gets to know them.
Jhon has experienced some tough starts in his young life and entered the foster care system in Colombia in 2018. He has been living with his current foster family since the summer of 2018 and has quickly established a strong bond with his foster mother. His foster mother states that once Jhon is able to establish trust he opens up and freely expresses his feelings and emotions. The affection and love that Jhon could receive from a permanent family will greatly strengthen his interpersonal skills and allow him to flourish!
Jhon is currently attending third grade and has been diagnosed with a moderate cognitive delay, in part due to his tough starts. His teachers note that while his performance is consistent in school, he has a shorter attention span and requires constant companionship throughout the school day to help him complete his tasks. Jhon can communicate verbally and fluently and receives speech therapy to help with his pronunciation of some words. He was recently seen by a psychologist to better understand his cognitive delay and discover ways to support his learning.
Despite the challenges he has faced, Jhon continues to show himself as a resilient young boy who enjoys interacting with his peers. Jhon is in need of a loving, trusting, and supportive family. He is ready to be matched immediately! If you think you could be the forever family for Jhon contact our Adoption Team at 212-400-8150 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
