We are looking for a loving, dedicated family for a sweet baby boy named Leo.  Leo is 7 months old and has been residing in a children’s home in Colombia since his birth.  Leo enjoys close contact with his caregivers and expresses his enjoyment through smiles and moving his arms and legs.

Leo has a diagnosis of Horizontal Nystagmus, a condition of involuntary eye movements that is acquired in infancy and can lead to reduced or limited vision later on in life; as well as a diagnosis of ‘Refractive Resolute Status’, which occurs when the shape of the eye does not bend light correctly, resulting in a blurred image.  This diagnostic impression was given for Leo as he has ‘impresses poor reactivity to light’, including visual tracking when attempting to find the source of a sound.  It is also noted that Leo has hypertonia in all four extremities but is able to grip objects and bring them to his mouth.

Despite his diagnosis’, Leo is attentive to his environment as he responds to physical caresses and enjoys being talked and sung to.  His caregivers report that his favorite time of the day is bath time.  Leo is small for an infant his age and is bottle-fed every 2 hours throughout the day.

Leo loves being pampered by his caregivers and rocked to sleep.  He is ready to be matched with his forever family immediately!!  If you think you could be the forever family for Leo, contact our Adoption Team at 212-400-8150 or email us at info@spence-chapin.org.
