We are looking for a loving, permanent family for an adorable little girl named Maria. Maria has been living with a foster family for most of her young life and is described as a “very sociable and loving girl” who enjoys giving and receiving affection.
Maria has a diagnosis of down syndrome and neurodevelopmental delays which affects her language, motor, and cognitive development. Maria is able to babble and can say some words such as “mama” and “dada” and is beginning to recognize and identify emotions in her caregivers. Maria tends to have a difficult time sitting up on her own and has not yet started crawling, but is receiving supports from a physical, occupational, and speech therapists to strengthen her development in these areas. Due to her diagnosis, and her age, she is fully dependent on her caregivers in carrying out her daily activities.
Maria’s therapists, as well as her caregivers, have noted Maria has the potential for a great prognosis with the patience, love, and perseverance of a permanent family who is equipped to meet Maria’s needs. She is ready to be matched immediately! If you think you could be the forever family for Maria, contact our Adoption Team at 212-400-8150 or email us at email@example.com.
