ROBBIE, BABY BOY, DOMESTIC SPECIAL NEEDS

robbie2

We are looking for a family for a beautiful baby boy named Robbie. Robbie was born in May 2020 and came into Spence-Chapin’s Interim Care program at two months of age.

At birth, Robbie was diagnosed with Rubinstein Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. Symptoms of Rubinstein Syndrome vary, but it is known to affect cognitive function, physical development and behavior. Robbie will require Early Intervention and follow-up appointments with Cardiology, Neurology and Urology.

Key features of Rubinstein Syndrome are heart defects, which can require future surgery. Other features of Rubinstein Syndrome are short stature, wide thumbs or first toe and obesity. While newborns with Rubinstein often have difficulty feeding, Robbie is bottle feeding and is continually gaining weight. Robbie has been diagnosed with Ebstein Anormaly, a rare heart defect that impacts the right side of the heart and the Triscuspid Valve. Robbie’s cardiac condition is currently stable. Robbie’s distinctive facial features are due to Mircognathia, which is a small jaw. Additionally, Robbie has Cryptorchidism, which are undescended testicles. This condition can lead to a potential procedure if there is no improvement within six months.

An adorable baby with thick black hair, Robbie’s sweet personality is already shining through! He is described as being an active baby who expresses himself when he’s hungry or needs a diaper change. He loves to be held and snuggle, and grasps a finger when being bottle fed. Robbie responds to music and voices and is easy to soothe.

Robbie’s parents are seeking an open adoption with a small family. Families from any state are welcome to apply.

If you would like to be considered as a potential adoptive parent for Robbie, please submit our FREE online pre-application and send us a copy of your current home study (completed within the past 12 months), conducted by a licensed adoption agency.

All families who have completed the online pre-application and submitted their current home study are considered active prospective adoptive families. We will contact you if your family is a potential match for a current or future waiting child. We are unable to consider families that do not have a current home study.
