We are looking for a loving, permanent family for a dynamic little boy named Tomas. Tomas has been living with a foster family since he was 3 months old. His foster mother has stated that the affection and love he receives from his foster family has strengthened his prognosis and will continue to be strengthened with the stability of a forever family.
Tomas has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome and a swallowing disorder for which a gastronomy tube has been put in place for him to receive liquid nutrients. His caregivers state that Tomas is a very calm and vibrant child who loves showing and receiving affection including hugs and smiles. Tomas communicates his wants and needs via nonverbal communication and babbles. He loves to imitate the sound of cars. Tomas is learning to establish a strong grip to grasp toys and other objects. He is not yet walking, and receives speech, occupational, and physical therapies to strengthen his development.
Tomas’ therapists have noted that he has the potential for great prognosis with the patience, love, and perseverance of a permanent family who is equipped to meet his needs. He is ready to be matched immediately! If you think you could be the forever family for Tomas, contact our Adoption Team at 212-400-8150 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
