We are looking for a dedicated, loving, and permanent family for Yuliyan. Yuliyan is described as a calm and smiley 3-year-old boy. He currently resides in a children’s home in Bulgaria, where he has lived since he was just over two months old.

Shortly after his birth, Yuliyan was diagnosed with pyruvate kinase deficiency, a genetic metabolite disease. This primary diagnosis has resulted in delays in Yuliyan’s physical and neuro-physical development. He cannot sit or stand independently. Yuliyan receives kinesis therapy daily to strengthen his development and is making great strides. He is now able to sit when in a baby walker and is strengthening his muscles to be able to roll from his back to his side.  Yuliyan is on a special diet (ketogenic) and eats mostly strained food.

Yuliyan recently transitioned from living with the youngest babies in the children’s home, to living with older children. This has proven to be a positive change for him, and his caregivers share that he has begun to express his emotions more vocally. He smiles and laughs and shows clear recognition of his caregivers. It is clear that Yuliyan benefits from an environment where he is encouraged, stimulated and supported.

Yuliyan is in need of a permanent family who can provide the love and support he needs and who is able to meet his unique needs.
