Eli is described as a warm, sensitive, and resilient child. He is currently living in a Children\u2019s Home in Colombia and needs a forever family through adoption. Eli\u2019s development is described as on track for his age. He attends school and enjoys reading about animals and the Universe. In school and in the Children\u2019s Home, Eli benefits greatly from patient adults who provide predictable expectations and positive reinforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emotionally, Eli continues to work on identifying and expressing his feelings and managing frustration. He has demonstrated progress in forming secure relationships with caregivers and professionals and shows empathy and openness in safe environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eli had a tough start in life, including abuse and neglect, and he is working through these issues in a therapeutic setting and with the help of various professionals. Eli has been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), which affect his attention span, impulse control, and emotional regulation, particularly in academic settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children like Eli, who are considered \u2018waiting children\u2019, generally have multi-faceted characteristics and needs which exceed the common characteristics and needs of children otherwise placed in one of our international programs. We are looking for the right family for waiting children because of their unique needs and vulnerabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
