Para las familias que han adoptado a trav\u00e9s de Spence-Chapin, este mueble tiene un valor sentimental incre\u00edble. Cientos de familias se han reunido sentadas en este sof\u00e1. Es donde Spence-Chapin suele celebrar ceremonias de colocaci\u00f3n, cuando un ni\u00f1o es colocado con su familia definitiva. Pero actualmente vivimos en un momento que es todo menos t\u00edpico. Con nuestro edificio de oficinas cerrado, ese sof\u00e1 no ha sido colocado desde marzo, pero eso no ha impedido que las familias se re\u00fanan. El equipo de Spence-Chapin ha trabajado con diligencia y creatividad para garantizar que las familias sigan creciendo a trav\u00e9s de la adopci\u00f3n, transformando espacios \u00fanicos y a menudo mundanos en recuerdos tan poderosos como aquellos que incluyen un sof\u00e1 naranja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las familias preadoptivas ahora firman sus documentos de adopci\u00f3n en sus hogares, guiadas por un trabajador social de Spence-Chapin que aparece en una pantalla a trav\u00e9s de Zoom. Las familias conocen por primera vez a su nuevo miembro en parques, afuera de las bibliotecas p\u00fablicas, en los porches de los pediatras o incluso justo en la puerta de entrada de sus padres.
