\u201cMe encantar\u00eda compartir mi viaje con THRIVE. Creo que mucha gente ver\u00e1 que con una buena orientaci\u00f3n se puede llegar muy lejos. Realmente recibo toda la motivaci\u00f3n de mi mentor. Realmente tengo suerte. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si no hubiera sido parte del programa THRIVE, realmente dudo que hubiera llegado tan lejos. Este programa me ha ense\u00f1ado mucha responsabilidad y rendici\u00f3n de cuentas en t\u00e9rminos de c\u00f3mo razonar con la gente; Hago las cosas con la ayuda de mi Mentora, as\u00ed que sin ella estar\u00eda perdido. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martha, una joven decidida de 19 a\u00f1os, vivi\u00f3 en un orfanato desde los 11. Complet\u00f3 la escuela secundaria con una designaci\u00f3n que la calificar\u00eda para la admisi\u00f3n a la universidad y quer\u00eda continuar sus estudios. Hab\u00eda so\u00f1ado con convertirse en periodista, con la esperanza de compartir las historias de las personas con el mundo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sin embargo, las solicitudes eran costosas y ella no pod\u00eda pagarlas adem\u00e1s de mantenerse ella misma. Sali\u00f3 de la instituci\u00f3n sin ning\u00fan v\u00ednculo con el trabajo o la educaci\u00f3n superior, una realidad que enfrentan muchos adultos j\u00f3venes al crecer en cuidados institucionalizados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THRIVE, un proyecto piloto que servir\u00eda como una extensi\u00f3n del Programa de Abuelas Spence-Chapin, lanzado en 2022, poco despu\u00e9s de que Martha fuera dada de alta del orfanato. La iniciativa THRIVE fue creada para adultos j\u00f3venes como ella y act\u00faa como un puente entre el cuidado institucionalizado y la vida independiente, atendiendo a adultos j\u00f3venes de 14 a 21 a\u00f1os. Conecta a los adultos j\u00f3venes que viven en cuidado institucionalizado con mentores y con profesionales y profesionales de la vida. habilidades y otros programas de capacitaci\u00f3n, brind\u00e1ndoles la oportunidad de desarrollar sus habilidades y explorar trayectorias profesionales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A trav\u00e9s del proyecto piloto THRIVE, Martha comenz\u00f3 a recibir un estipendio,<\/strong> un componente cr\u00edtico que ayuda a los participantes construir una red de seguridad para el ahorro <\/strong>para la transici\u00f3n a una vida independiente. Este estipendio le permiti\u00f3 ahorrar para las solicitudes universitarias, reavivando sus esperanzas y sue\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mientras esperaba los resultados de su solicitud, el mentor de Martha la gui\u00f3 sobre la creaci\u00f3n de redes y la exposici\u00f3n profesional y, en \u00faltima instancia, la ayud\u00f3 a conseguir una oportunidad de observaci\u00f3n laboral con un periodista en Johannesburgo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoy, Martha estudia en la Universidad de Sud\u00e1frica (UNISA), cursa una Licenciatura en Liderazgo Pol\u00edtico y Ciudadan\u00eda, y est\u00e1 en camino de lograr su sue\u00f1o. Ella atribuye gran parte de su \u00e9xito al programa THRIVE de Spence-Chapin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

El programa de la abuela<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Al igual que Martha, cada ni\u00f1o del sistema de asistencia social de Sud\u00e1frica merece un cuidador dedicado. Por eso creamos El programa de la abuela<\/a>: conectando a cuidadores amorosos con ni\u00f1os bajo cuidado institucionalizado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A medida que estos ni\u00f1os crecen, sus abuelas crecen con ellos, brind\u00e1ndoles valiosa tutor\u00eda y orientaci\u00f3n a lo largo de sus vidas. THRIVE es una extensi\u00f3n del Granny Program, que permite a los adultos j\u00f3venes el mismo nivel de apoyo que brindamos a los ni\u00f1os de todo el mundo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actualmente contamos con m\u00e1s de 500 ni\u00f1os recibiendo el amor de una Granny y 11 orfanatos benefici\u00e1ndose del Programa Granny. \u00a1Esperamos continuar ampliando este recurso y ayudar a m\u00e1s ni\u00f1os a alcanzar hitos de desarrollo y alcanzar sus sue\u00f1os!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
