Esper\u00e9 lo que pareci\u00f3 una eternidad por la llamada telef\u00f3nica. Estaba emocional y financieramente comprometida con lo que ser\u00eda el evento m\u00e1s significativo de mi vida: la adopci\u00f3n de mi peque\u00f1o. El largo viaje fue frustrante y la espera fue una verdadera prueba de mi resistencia y paciencia.<\/p>\n

Pero entonces recib\u00ed LA llamada. Tuve que dejarlo todo r\u00e1pidamente: mi trabajo, mi familia, mis amigos y mi vida tal como la conoc\u00eda.<\/p>\n

Al adoptar como madre soltera, vol\u00e9 a Bulgaria<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> la primera vez solo. Estaba muy ansioso por navegar en una tierra extranjera de la que no sab\u00eda pr\u00e1cticamente nada. Despu\u00e9s de aterrizar en suelo b\u00falgaro, s\u00f3lo pod\u00eda esperar que mi inteligencia callejera, mis medios intelectuales y el buen Dios me guiaran en lugar de mis emociones. Pero, al igual que el poema \u201cHuellas en la arena\u201d, hubo ANIDO<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>. Durante lo que podr\u00eda haber sido la experiencia m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil, frustrante y aterradora de mi vida, ANIDO estuvo all\u00ed para ayudarme.<\/p>\n

En el aeropuerto de Sof\u00eda estaba un miembro de la familia ANIDO con un cartel con mi nombre. Cualquier ansiedad que ten\u00eda comenz\u00f3 a disminuir. A excepci\u00f3n de dormir y alg\u00fan tiempo libre, ANIDO nunca se separ\u00f3 de mi lado. Incluso me registraron en el hotel, me acompa\u00f1aron hacia y desde el orfanato (que estaba a cuatro horas de Sof\u00eda) y me ayudaron con todas las citas oficiales y gubernamentales requeridas y con el interminable papeleo. Me trataron como a una familia.<\/p>\n

Tres meses despu\u00e9s, regres\u00e9 con mi hermana a recoger a mi hijo. Una vez m\u00e1s ANIDO estuvo a mi lado en cada paso del camino. La fundadora y mi representante legal, Nellie, es inteligente, conocedora, minuciosa y comprensiva. Nayda, que nos acompa\u00f1\u00f3 a todas las reuniones gubernamentales, es compasiva y cari\u00f1osa. Krassi, mi traductora y acompa\u00f1ante, es ingeniosa, exitosa y siempre me hizo sentir segura. Incluso me acompa\u00f1\u00f3 en algunas excursiones tur\u00edsticas hist\u00f3ricas.<\/p>\n

Estar\u00e9 eternamente agradecido al equipo de ANIDO. Me siento bendecido y honrado de llamarlos mis amigos. Tuvieron un tremendo impacto en m\u00ed y fueron una gran parte para unir y completar a mi familia. Sigo estando en deuda con ellos.<\/p>\n
