Esta primavera, Spence-Chapin comenz\u00f3 con orgullo nuestro primer Programa de abuelas<\/a> en \u00c1frica con el Othendweni Family Care Center, un orfanato en Soweto, Sud\u00e1frica, que alberga a 90 ni\u00f1os, 30 de los cuales tienen edades comprendidas entre unos pocos d\u00edas y cuatro a\u00f1os. Othandweni es operado por Sociedad de Bienestar Infantil de Johannesburgo<\/a> (JCW), una de las organizaciones de su tipo m\u00e1s antiguas, m\u00e1s grandes y m\u00e1s respetadas del pa\u00eds. Cada semana, de lunes a viernes, 20 ni\u00f1os pasan tiempo de calidad con sus abuelas. El personal de JCW informa que inmediatamente comenzaron a ver cambios en los ni\u00f1os participantes, \u00a1que ahora buscan a sus abuelas todos los d\u00edas!<\/p>\n

La presentaci\u00f3n de una abuela a un ni\u00f1o peque\u00f1o literalmente cambia la vida; le da a ese ni\u00f1o la oportunidad de vivir una vida sana, segura y bien adaptada. Los orfanatos est\u00e1n luchando por satisfacer las necesidades m\u00e1s b\u00e1sicas de los ni\u00f1os bajo su cuidado y est\u00e1n pidiendo programas como este que les ayuden a mejorar la vida de estos peque\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Nuestro programa Granny es un excelente iniciativa de ayuda humanitaria<\/a> que brinda a los ni\u00f1os institucionalizados la oportunidad de formar v\u00ednculos importantes y saludables con un adulto de confianza.
