Virtual Parent Group

  •  November 17, 2022
     6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Hosted by Amy Silverman LMSW, this discussion will focus on “Responding to Difficult Questions.” The group will discuss how to respond when family, friends and nosy strangers ask uncomfortable questions, how to empower your child to respond to difficult questions or comments from peers, and how to tell your kids about challenging information about their own story.
All parents whose children are enrolled in community programming are invited to join in the conversation. This evening will run as an open discussion so that everyone has an opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences, while hearing from the clinical perspective.

About Amy: Amy Silverman, LMSW, has been a Social Worker for 30 years, including 13 years at Spence-Chapin, working with Birth Parents and Boarding Families. She has returned to Spence-Chapin as a therapist working with Adoptive Parents and adoptees of all ages.
