We offer a safe space to consider your options and make a plan for your pregnancy. The options we can help you consider are parenting, adoption, kinship care, foster care, and abortion. If you are facing an unexpected pregnancy or have recently given birth, you have support in making the best plan for you. All services are free.

You can call, text or email us anytime. Our counselors are on-call and will travel to meet you at a convenient time and place (within 100 miles of NYC).

LOCAL RESOURCES
We can assist you with transportation, pregnancy-related expenses and connect you to resources like prenatal care, housing, parenting support programs, health insurance, respite care, legal aid, WIC benefits, and more.

NO PRESSURE
Facing an unplanned pregnancy can feel scary. At Spence-Chapin, you will have your own counselor who is focused on you and your wishes. You will not be alone or feel pressured to make a decision before you are ready.

NO JUDGEMENT
As experienced professionals, we understand what others don’t. We’ll help you navigate difficult conversations or unwanted questions/comments from your healthcare provider or community.

NEWBORN CARE
Free interim care program to care for your baby after leaving the hospital while you continue to consider your options and make a plan. We give you the time and space you need after giving birth to make a permanent plan for your baby.

SPECIAL NEEDS
We can help parents who have a baby with a special health need, including significant developmental issues, prenatal exposure to drugs or alcohol, genetic disorders, rare syndromes, and other serious medical and congenital conditions.

ADOPTION EXPERTS
If you are considering adoption, let us help you choose a family you can trust. Adoptive parents registered with Spence-Chapin have all been properly screened and are well-prepared for parenting and open adoption. We hear from 100 loving adoptive families every year who want to adopt a baby with special medical needs.
