Eli is described as a warm, sensitive, and resilient child. He is currently living in a Children’s Home in Colombia and needs a forever family through adoption. Eli’s development is described as on track for his age. He attends school and enjoys reading about animals and the Universe. In school and in the Children’s Home, Eli benefits greatly from patient adults who provide predictable expectations and positive reinforcement.
Emotionally, Eli continues to work on identifying and expressing his feelings and managing frustration. He has demonstrated progress in forming secure relationships with caregivers and professionals and shows empathy and openness in safe environments. Eli had a tough start in life and is working through these issues in a therapeutic setting and with the help of various professionals. He is a medically healthy child.
Children like Eli, who are considered ‘waiting children’, generally have multi-faceted characteristics and needs which exceed the common characteristics and needs of children otherwise placed in one of our international programs.
