Ivy is a funny, talkative girl who likes to make people laugh. She lives in a children’s home in Colombia. Her favorite color is red because it is the jersey color for her favorite soccer team, and her favorite food is yucca. She likes laughing, making jokes, and listening to music. She dreams of becoming a hairdresser or a skater when she grows up. When our team asked Ivy if she had a superpower, what would it be, she said:
“I would be happy and I would have a family who loves me”
Ivy gets good grades in school and is described by her caregivers as loving and affectionate. She is diagnosed with ADHD and is receiving supportive services, including medication management.
Children like Ivy, who are considered ‘waiting children’ generally have multi-faceted characteristics and needs which exceed the common characteristics and needs of children otherwise placed in one of our international programs. We are looking for the right family for waiting children because of their unique needs and vulnerabilities.
More information about Ivy and her specific needs can be received after speaking with a member of our team

If you receive and accept the referral of Ivy through Spence-Chapin, you will benefit from the generosity of our new Briden Adoption Fund, which can offset the costs of adopting an international Waiting Child. The Briden Adoption Fund is made possible by the generosity of a Spence-Chapin family.
