We are so excited that we got to spend time with our friend Joey on our most recent trip to Colombia! Joey continues to reside in a Children’s Home (institution) in Colombia where he is beloved by staff and caregivers. His spirit, wit and intelligence were on full display again during this visit! A natural performer, Joey showed zero stage fright when he sang us an original song he composed. Joey had the opportunity to travel to the U.S. last summer and shared that the plane rides were amazing!
Joey has faced many hardships in his young life, including severe physical abuse which rendered him blind. Joey has not let this slow him down one bit, he navigates spaces expertly and is reading Braille!
QUESTION: What do you dream of in an adoptive family?
Joey: “I need something no one has ever given me, love, friendship and nurturing care.”
QUESTION: You are such a great performer, what is your favorite type of music?
Joey: “Rap, Reggaeton and Ranchera”
Like so many kids his age, Joey’s favorite food is pizza. He loves playing soccer and building with Legos. When he grows up Joey says he wants to play soccer, “be scientific” and travel.
