Adoptees Adulting
In this adoptee-led program, we will navigate adulthood alongside a supportive community of peers and adult adoptee Mentors. Hosted September through June via monthly Zoom meetings, this group welcomes adoptees ages 18-24 worldwide, with the opportunity to meet for one in-person celebration in NYC.
A Virtual Adoptee Support Group for Navigating Adulthood
For many, transitioning into adulthood brings with it many changes and challenges. Navigating that change as an adoptee can be its own unique experience. Through our Teen Adoptee Mentorship Program, we noticed the need for our Mentorship graduates to have a helping hand as they enter adulthood. The program is now open to all adopted people ages 18-24. Adoptees Adulting is a space to discuss the adoptee experience, professional development, identity, belonging, transitions & more.
Meet The Group Facilitator
All of our community programming is created for adoptees, by adoptees. Adoptees Adulting is facilitated by Jessica M. Luciere, Spence-Chapin’s Associate Director of Family & Community Support and an adopted person herself.
Jessica was born in Bogota, Colombia and grew up on Long Island, NY. Jessica is a wife and mother to two young children. As an Adoptee Advocate, Jessica has worked in adoptee spaces for over 20 years, creating programming that uplifts the adoptee voice.
