Brian is described by his foster family in Colombia as “affectionate, sociable, and emotionally expressive – a child who enjoys interacting with adults and peers.” He enjoys drawing, outdoor play, and shows a particular affinity for animals and nature.
Given his tough start in life, Brian is receiving educational and behavioral supports and continues to make progress. He is currently followed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including psychology and psychiatry.
Brian is a resilient child who, despite early adversity, has demonstrated the ability to form attachments, make developmental progress, and respond positively to supportive interventions. With the right family environment, he has strong potential to continue developing his skills, emotional security, and overall quality of life.
Children like Brian, who are considered ‘waiting children’, generally have multi-faceted characteristics and needs which exceed the common characteristics and needs of children otherwise placed in one of our international programs. We are looking for the right family for waiting children because of their unique needs and vulnerabilities.
More information about Brian and his specific needs can be received after speaking with a member of our team.
