In this training we will discuss the foundation of attachment and the attachment difficulties that can present in adoption. We will explore themes of grief, loss and trauma that are inherent in international adoption and will discuss how children manifest their trauma through their behavior. We will additionally explore techniques adoptive parents can use to help their child manage their trauma and loss history.

There is no separate fee for this training for families adopting through an international adoption program at Spence-Chapin or who are competing their international adoption home study with Spence-Chapin.
