     10:00 am - 11:00 am

This presentation is designed for professionals working in a social service and perinatal healthcare setting. We will give an overview of options counseling and expectant/birth parent services available to patients in Arizona. Attendees will get an overview of adoption options, including open adoption, special needs adoption and older child adoption, and when/how to present all options and refer to an adoption resource when needed. Specific case examples will be used to provide context.

  • Participants will learn how to present adoption (alongside other options) when a woman delivers at the hospital without a parenting plan in place and what services agencies and attorneys can provide.
  • Participants will learn the stages of adoption planning and the role of the social worker throughout these stages.

This webinar now offers 1 Free CEU (1 hour) for professionals licensed through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health. The Arizona State University School of Social Work is an approved credentialing organization for CEUs for social work and human service agencies across Arizona.

** We have chosen the Go to Webinar Platform to respect that during the exploration phase, some families are not yet ready to share their hopes to adopt with others and in Go to Webinar, your names and faces will not be visible to other participants. But we are always happy to support families in building an adoption community! If you do feel ready to connect with other pre-adoptive or adoptive parents, please let us know and we can facilitate introductions for those who wish to be connected to other families.**
