From early in our relationship we knew that we had a deep desire to have children and to build a loving family together. It would be an incredible privilege for us to be parents to a child – to teach, guide, and support them as they grow, navigate the world, and become the unique person that only they can be. From the beginning, we had adoption in the back of our minds, and after several years of miscarriages and infertility, we became confident and excited about the possibility of growing our family through adoption.

Fun Fact
Jeff originally grew up in small-town Michigan, but moved to NYC to attend music school and loved it so much that he never left! Since then he’s developed a rewarding and varied musical life playing on Broadway, at Lincoln Center, and many other exciting places around the world. Through music, he has built a very strong network of friends and colleagues here and abroad and is looking forward to one day being able to share it all with a child!
Our Lives
We love living in New York City – with all the vibrance, diversity, activity and opportunity it offers. We think it is an amazing place for a child to grow up, surrounded by such an abundance of music, theatre, dance, museums, food, and people from all over the world. We also love the quiet and residential character of our neighborhood on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, with the peace and beauty of Central Park right next door, which provides a great place for kids to play and enjoy nature.
Both of us are incredibly lucky to have been able to choose work that reflects our passions and values. We want to involve our child in these aspects of our lives and hope they absorb the values that inspired our careers. Laura’s work as a primary care doctor gives her the opportunity to care for people and to guide and support them as they go through health and life challenges over time. For Jeff, his work allows him the joy of making music every day while forming strong and meaningful relationships in the process.
Our Family
Laura’s parents love traveling to visit us many times per year and they can’t wait to have another grandchild in the family to read to, play with, and take to museums and parks! They also join us a couple times a year in San Diego where Laura’s brother and sister-in-law live with their twin boys who are eager to have another cousin to join the bike-riding, Lego-building, and beach-going fun. We are lucky to have Jeff’s mom only 30 minutes away in New Jersey, and she is eager to welcome her very first grandchild. We are also fortunate to have close friends nearby with kids of varying ages who have become like extended family, and who can’t wait for us to have a child of our own. Sadly, we lost both of our beloved pets – our dog Mac and our cat Spooky – in the last couple years, but we are looking forward to welcoming another furry friend into our family when the time is right!
Final Thoughts
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little bit about us. We recognize that you must be facing an incredibly challenging decision, and we are honored that you would consider us as you think about making an adoption plan. We would be humbled and overjoyed to welcome a child into our family, and we promise to do everything we can to nurture, to protect and – above all – to love that child unconditionally.
