Maggie & Steve

maggie Couple Profile 1 scaled

We are Steve and Maggie. We have been together for four years and have been married for one year. We got married on October 19, 2024, in the same church Maggie’s parents also got married in. We live near our favorite lake in Upstate New York. We have one dog and three cats who we love unconditionally. We both come from very close, small families who offer great support and love us immensely. We both have dreamt of becoming parents someday and have wanted a family of our own ever since we met. After discovering that biological children would be very difficult for us, we made the decision (along with our families) to adopt. Adoption is close to our hearts as we have several close friends who are either adoptive parents or adoptees. We have seen how amazing this journey will be for our family. We are extremely excited to start this journey and welcome our child into our family with open arms and open hearts!

About Maggie

Job: Maggie is a family medicine nurse practitioner (NP) and is a certified nursing instructor.

Hobbies: Maggie loves to cook and read. We both love the outdoors: exploring hiking trails, camping, and scouting out new fishing spots. We both also have a passion for all things Disney. We have been to Disney several times, and we can’t wait to bring our child to Disney to experience the “magic” that only Disney can provide.

Fun Fact: We met through an online dating site, but realized shortly afterward that we attended the same high school. Since it was such a large school, we did not know each other. We also discovered that we lived just a few streets away from each other growing up.

About Steve

Job: Steve is an electrician and decorated soldier in the Army National Guard.

Hobbies: Steve enjoys spending time outdoors and cannot wait to share adventures with our future child. We enjoy gardening and have a small homestead in our backyard. We also enjoy boating, golf, and sporting events. We frequently attend the Syracuse Mets, the New York Yankees, or Met’s games.

Fun Fact: Steve has traveled to Africa and visited many countries along the way during his military career. Steve has experienced their various cultures firsthand, which has given him a unique desire to share his knowledge and experiences.

Our Lives

We make family time a high priority. Even though we both have full-time careers, we make time every night to cook and talk about our day. We also make time to talk about our experiences and plans for the future. On the weekends, we spend time with our friends and family. Most Friday evenings, we have dinner with Steve’s mom. On Sundays, we have a family dinner at Maggie’s parents’ house, which normally includes watching sports, cooking, and enjoying family time. We take priority on memory-making and make a point to take at least one vacation per year as a family, just as we did growing up, and are excited to carry on these traditions with our child.

Our Family

Our immediate family consists of Steve and Maggie, along with our beloved pets Lucy, Oliver, Aurora, and Simba. Maggie’s family consists of her Mom (Sue), Dad (Bob), Brother (Dana), and her brother-in-law(Jeremy). Steve’s family consists of his Mom (Patty), Brother (Sean), sister-in-law (Liz), and two nephews. Our best friends are Grace and Steven, who have a three-month-old daughter (Belle).

Final Thoughts

We are extremely appreciative of the time you gave us by reviewing our story and journey through this adoption! We are blessed to be given this opportunity, and we thank you for trusting us to be your child’s parents. We promise you that we will forever cherish, love, and support this child. We are truly grateful to share our lives with this child and create many family memories that last a lifetime.
