Rayna & Jeffrey

We’re a loving family of three living in Queens, New York, eagerly hoping to expand our family. We met in 2006, got married in 2014 and in 2019 we welcomed our first child.

On weekends, if we’re not visiting friends or family, we like to take hikes, explore New York, or hang out at home for a movie night. Books and music are in regular rotation at our home. We love story time and dance parties. We also love crafts, building robots and Legos. We believe in creating a nurturing environment where our son can be himself and develop his unique interests, personality and confidence.

Adoption has held a special place in our hearts, particularly through having close relationships with both an adoptee and an adoptive parent who’ve shared their stories with us. After facing fertility challenges while trying to expand our family, we recognized that adoption was our path. We cannot wait to bring a second child into our home and embrace them with love, honor their story, and create a home where they always feel supported.

Our Lives

Our home is in Queens, NY. We live in a quiet neighborhood that has a school, a library and a playground. We’re just a ten-minute drive from Flushing Meadow Park that has Queens Zoo and Hall of Science, and in the other direction, we’re also a ten-minute drive from Queens Farm.

When we’re not with friends and family we like to go to the zoo, the farm or take trips into the city. We also love to hang out at home and play games. In spring, summer and fall River takes soccer class. We always have huge celebrations for Thanksgiving, Christmas and birthdays. And on any random night, you might find Rayna and River having an impromptu dance party in the living room.

In the summers we like to take vacations or day trips throughout the northeast. Every August, Rayna’s best friend rents a house for a week in Martha’s Vineyard where we always have the best time.

Our Family

Our family consists of four grandparents and two step-grandparents. Jeffrey has 3 siblings and six kids amongst those siblings. Rayna has one sister with two sons and 9 step-siblings with lots of children amongst them. River plays often with Rayna’s youngest nephew as they are close in age. We also have friends in Long Island with children of the same age and we have lots of play dates and group activities. We also have friends in Queens who we see often for playdates.

Final Thoughts

We can only imagine the difficulty in making this decision, but we are so grateful to you for considering our family. Please know that we will love and support your child unconditionally. We can’t wait to welcome a second child into our home.
