We met in college as members of the student government and have been together ever since. In our 22 years together, we have tried to fill our time with adventures, from seeing Broadway shows and concerts to going on fun filled trips.
After dating for 7 years, we got married in January 2012 with all our friends and family. In 2013 when same-sex marriage became legal we had our “second wedding” in the county courthouse. The judge Ron was working for at the time performed the ceremony and Anthony’s family were our witnesses.
We adopted Evelyn when she was born in 2020. Named after Anthony’s grandmother, she has been the light of our lives. Evelyn was born 7 weeks early and spent 2 weeks in the NICU, but has grown into a strong and healthy kid. Evelyn loves her cousins, going to the park, reading stories and doing crafts. She is caring and protective of her friends, and would make an amazing big sister. We each have so much love to give and hope to grow our family through a second adoption.

Our Lives
We try to center our daily lives around family and fun. Every Friday we have pizza with Anthony’s parents, sister and her family. We like to expose Evelyn to as many activities as she would like to try, without forcing anything. So far she has tried gymnastics, ballet, swimming and running club. We take monthly trips to the library for new books, go to different parks around town when the weather is nice, and have family movie nights 2 or 3 times a month. We all pitch in around the house, helping to clean up and keep things organized. Ron teaches Evelyn how to cook and help with the garden. Anthony teaches her about art and fashion.
Our Family
We are very happy to live close to our families. We regularly spend time with our sisters and Anthony’s parents. Ron’s nephews, Josh (19) and Tyler (17), come help their mom when she takes care of Evelyn. We spend a ton of time with Anthony’s niece and nephew, Kathryn (7) and William (5); Evelyn and William even attended the same daycare for several years before they started pre-k. We go to their house every Friday night for pizza. Anthony’s parents live 15 minutes away. They are regular babysitters and come to every event for their grandchildren. We also have a lot of extended family that we love to see as often as possible. We celebrate every birthday, holiday and lots of little things in between together. Many of our friends also have young children who we play with as often as possible.
Final Thoughts
We hope that we have given you a glimpse into our lives and values. As a couple, family is, and always has been, our number one priority. We cannot adequately express how grateful we are
to you for considering us in this most difficult decision, and we would like you to know how much we would treasure your child; you and your sacrifice will forever be a part of our family’s story. We will devote our lives to providing your child with everything he or she could ever want or need.
