Virtual Group

Supporting your adoptive child through their haircare journey is a vital and joyful part of their development. For families comprised of different hair textures, gaining tips, tricks and general information will provide your child with the support they need as they grow into their hair individuality. In this session we will explore general hair education, different curl patterns and hair porosity, appropriate haircare products, braiding techniques, and in general have a space for best practice sharing.

Hosted by Spence-Chapin Social Worker, Clara Hobson, LMSW – “As a transracial adoptee, I witnessed my mother learning and gaining competency around how to help me care for my hair. As a black woman, finding confidence, love and patience for my curls has been crucial, and is a lifelong journey. I have educated myself and joined curly hair support groups to learn about optimal products and care techniques. I look forward to meeting with you and discussing one of my favorite topics – hair!”

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
