Hi, we’re Mike and Emma! We met on a service trip to build a school in Mali, Africa in 2009 and the rest is history. We’ve now been together for over 11 years and happily married since 2013. In 2018, we adopted our daughter, Iris. Iris is a funny, curious, cuddly kid who has brought so much love and joy to our lives. We are so blessed to have such an amazing child!
We own a lovely home in a diverse Westchester neighborhood 25 minutes north of Manhattan and enjoy exploring the surrounding area with Iris and our two dogs. Between our ability to make each other laugh, and our easygoing nature, we genuinely have fun spending time together and will be honored to welcome another child into our family.

Our Life
Our home is truly our “happy place” and is always filled with love and laughter. Every day is about spending quality family time together and providing opportunities for Iris to have fun, learn & explore. Whether it be visiting Muscoot Farms to see the animals, going to watch a local golf tournament, hosting a BBQ in our backyard, or hiking at Rockefeller State Park, we’re always up for a fun family activity! And while we love activities, we also cherish quality time at home. We have some of the most fun making healthy smoothies together or cuddling up on the couch and watching Iris’ favorite movies (Princess & The Frog, Moana, Book of Life & Pocahantas).
Our Family
Our immediate family of 5 (including our two dogs Blackjack and Mel) is lucky to have an amazing group of extended family friends who are a big part of our lives. Most of our friends & family are spread throughout NY and NJ so we make sure to plan get-togethers regularly. Iris loves getting quality time with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends! Mike’s parents visit every week so Iris gets to spend Mondays and Tuesdays with Grandmom and Poppy, going to the park and making awesome arts & crafts! Emma’s Dad lives right near the beach and Iris loves our summer days hanging with “Paw- Paw”, making sandcastles and splashing in the ocean. Many of our friends are people we’ve known since childhood so it’s wonderful to see all of our friends’ children having an opportunity to grow up with one another.
Final Thoughts
We understand that this is an incredibly difficult decision as a birth parent and we will always respect the choice made for our child. More than anything, we look forward to providing a loving, stable & joyful home for a child and we thank you for taking the time to consider us.
