I’m Sara and I’m from Brooklyn. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am very excited to become a parent and being able to share this journey with you. While I have lived many places in my life, I settled in Brooklyn almost 20 years ago and consider this home. Recently, I adopted a cat named Savannah, and she makes me smile every time I see her. I am looking forward to expanding my family to include a child as well. I am a lawyer and I work in the areas of child welfare and juvenile justice. I run programs for at-risk youth to try to keep them off the streets and out of trouble. I have been fortunate to find work that I love and have dedicated my career to working with kids who need my help.
Reading, biking, listening to music of all kinds
I am a die-hard New York Mets fan! Let’s go Mets!
I envision my family enjoying all the things to do in my neighborhood but also experiencing all the opportunities in New York City! I live one block away from Prospect Park, where there are ball fields, playgrounds and tennis courts. Getting to places like the Statue of Liberty, Coney Island and all the museums are also just a subway ride away. I am also a huge Mets fan and am looking forward to taking my child to Citi Field to cheer them on. I have made many friends over the years and several are as close to me as siblings. One of my best friends has a seven-year-old son and I love spending time with him. He always has me laughing and will be so excited to have a new playmate! Another one of my best friends lives in Vermont on a farm and she cannot wait to show off the chickens, ducks and pigs! We also love going to the beach and are thrilled that we will soon be playing in the sand and the waves of the ocean with my child.
I have a very supportive family who is spread out around the country. My dad and my two brothers live in Texas and my sister and her husband live in Chicago. One of my brothers is married and has two children. I visit Texas at Christmas to see my entire family but I also travel to Chicago often to visit my sister. She is excited to become an aunt and has already thought of many places in Chicago to explore. While my family is not geographically close, we talk all the time and Facebook has made it easier to connect with them, but especially with my wonderful nephew and niece.
“Thank you again for considering me. I wish you the best as you go through this journey and I look forward to hearing from you soon.”
